Android #16 is yet another one of Dr. Gero's creations bent on destroying Goku. Once Dr.Gero creates Cell he realizes that he must help the Z Fighters to defeat him. He is the strongest of the androids and is the only one who cares at all bout nature. His death is what triggers Gohan to go SSJ2 and have the power to defeat Cell.
