Raditz comes to Earth in the very first episode of DBZ to come and get Goku to join the rest of the Sayains that were left after the destruction of Vegeta. When Goku says no they fight and Goku teams up with Piccolo to defeat him with a blast of the special beam cannon. I didn't like this because I wanted to see how long his hair would get after he turned SSJ3.
