The Super Sayain Levels

Sayains have a special ability to become extremely powerful when they are angered for various reasons. This transformation is called "going Super Sayain" or commonly referred to as SSJ.

A regular sayain posses extreme power before he ever goes SSJ, but this awesome power can become greatly magnified with the help of these "Super Transformations." In this stage sayains look just like humans except with a long tail.

The first transformation is Super Sayain Level 1 or SSJ1. This transformation was first achieved by goku while fighting the mighty Freeza. When Freeza killed Krillen Goku became angry enough to trigger a super sayain transformaion. At this stage the sayains have bright yellow hair that seems to float on its own. This floating yellow hair is also accompanied by a yellow ki wave and blue lightning.

After SSJ1 there is Super Sayain Level 2. Gohan was the first person to achieve this level of power. He went SSJ2 while watching Cell kill Android #16. This level of SS is much more powerful than the first level even though it doesn't look that much different. SSJ2 characteristics are like SSJ1 except that the yellow hair is a couple of inches longer and instead of blue lightning it is silver.

After SSJ3 there comes SSJ3(like you didn't know already). Goku and Gotenks were the only two characters to achieve this level of power. SSJ3 is the highest level of power achieved in DBZ. SSJ3 is like the other levels except that whan they achieve this level there hair is about 5 feet long.

My personal favorite level of power is SSJ4. Goku and Vegita* were the only sayains to achieve this level. Super Sayain Level 4 is drastically different from the previous levels. Instead of having Yellow hair they have black hair, red eyes, red fur, and a really long tail. This is the ultimate form of a sayain.

*Note: You may notice that Vegita achieved SSJ4 but did not achieve SSJ3, this is because Bulma built a "Brute Ray" and zapped him straight to SSJ4.
