Goku first meets Yamcha as a child in the Dragonball series. Yamcha is a desert pirate that is also a really good fighter. His best friend is a little cat looking shape changer named Puar. Yamcha is afraid to talk to girls and wanted the Dragonballs so that he could make a wish to Shen Lon for a girlfriend. Throughout the series Yamcha looks like he is always going to marry Bulma, but because he is so shy, she marries Vegeta instead. After he dies fighting the Saibamen he starts to lose his importance in the series and becomes one of the weakest of the Z Fighters.
